Working together to restart tourism in Malta

By John

After the most challenging year in decades, it’s finally time for the Maltese tourism industry to start preparing for summer. With the good news that Malta is set to welcome British tourists from June 1, thousands of businesses including hotels, guest houses and diving schools, are being urged to get ready to re-open.

The planned lifting of travel restrictions from the UK to Malta is a real sign of confidence that infection numbers have started to fall in Malta as well as in England, Scotland and Wales. And at last people can start booking their Malta holiday!

Our team of marketing experts at Keen are on hand to help businesses in the hospitality sector take advantage of a NEW SCHEME to help attract tourists to the island this summer. The digital marketing tourism scheme, launched by the Malta Tourism Authority, is a rebate for digital marketing services for guesthouses, hostels, two-star hotels and self-catering apartments.

With a budget of €1.5 million, guest houses and boutique hotels will be eligible for up to €1,000 per property, two-star hotels up to €500 per property and self-catering apartments and licensed hostels up to €250 per property in rebates related to digital marketing costs spent on advertising to tourists.

At Keen, we believe tourism is a force for good and can bring social, economic and wellbeing benefits to every corner of Malta and Gozo. We can guide you through the application process and assist you in using the funding budgets wisely.

Let visitors know you’re open

Visitors are starting to make plans – and want to know which businesses in Malta will be open and equipped to safely welcome them.

Show you’re good to go

Your digital marketing and PR efforts should give confidence to visitors that you’re adhering to official public health guidance, something that’s more important than ever.

Increase your online bookings

As the Maltese hospitality industry reopens, the research and booking journey of potential visitors will reflect the change of customer behaviour, with online bookings being more important than ever.

Our experienced team can get you in the best shape to embrace the potential of Facebook, Instagram, Google and YouTube, show how Google My Business can benefit you, and ensure your online business listings stand out from the crowd.

If you prefer getting your own hands into the fun, stay tuned! We will be organising group coaching and one-to-one training sessions for digital marketing campaigns focusing on international marketing.

Alternatively, we are happy to offer Complete Campaign Management where Keen’s expert team will prepare, execute and optimise your digital marketing promotion, including creative design, artwork, monitoring and reporting.
