Elektra is an electrical lighting company based in Malta who distribute and import a wide range of renowned brands, electrical and lighting equipment. This established company markets world quality lighting and technical products, they also create bespoke lighting concepts for corporate clients as well as blue chip businesses and domestic clients.

Elektra sought our advice on reaching out to new consumers and to widen awareness of their brand. Their business has a credible reputation with high-end businesses and consumers, but wanted to secure a greater understanding of their business from among everyday consumers, because modern lighting design concepts aren’t necessarily expensive.

Our team at Keen worked with Elekra to create short animation videos to run on the company’s own Facebook page, which could then be promoted to new customers as sponsored ads running on Facebook and as content on YouTube – educating the wider public about their products and services.

Animation videos are an effective digital marketing tool, not only do they separate your business from your competitors through digital content creation – they have been proven to really engage with consumers AND more importantly these engagements regularly convert into sales € € €.

Because the visuals used in these animated shorts demand simplicity, they are universal and easily translate to your clients and customers whatever your services and products would be; effectively saving you time and money. Plus, nowadays consumers lead busy lives and are bombarded with a constant stream of information via multiple platforms. So, your audience MAY find it easier to watch a 30 second animation than to read through pages of content on a website.

Another advantage for businesses using animated shorts is that they allow you to integrate your business branding, so that the consumer will instantly recognize and associate your brand and products with the distinct content created.

Our Design team at Keen Ltd worked with Elektra to devise, develop, storyboard and create a series of animated videos.

The 42nd anniversary animation showcases Elektra’s success in bringing light to our homes and businesses, promoting their company portfolio and the range of lighting services our client provides.  Animations are a quick way of transmitting a lot of information. This video successfully demonstrates their business model, their clients and customers and also features the range of international brands available from the retailer.

‘Lighting up the Man Cave was an engaging animation with an anthropological angle.

The concept behind the video was to highlight the importance of light to the way humanity has evolved; illustrating how harnessing light had advanced mankind’s existence from the primitive cave dweller to our most modern homes. It was targeted towards the affluent male demographic and released to coincide with a blog post on the Elektra website; it also ran as an animation on its own on Facebook and on YouTube.

Elektra’s Easter animation was more of a conceptual – seasonal message targeted to consumers throughout the Maltese islands –  spreading some Easter cheer. The messages conveyed by this animation focus on the importance of light; reinforcing how it is a source of energy and a power generator;  bringing light to our lives.

As you watch the animation below, you will see it begins on a wide shot of a farm and a wind turbine turning, it then zooms into the inside of a barn where you see an egg with an Easter chick inside hatching under an incubator light, with the tagline:  Rejoice the gift of life as a gift of light.  Happy Easter – from our team at Elektra.

Did you notice how our designers used black and red, white colours to reinforce Elektra’s corporate branding? Did you also spot that elektra’s logo was incorporated into the sun and the centre of the wind turbine at the beginning of the animation and that even the filaments in the incubator light bulbs are upside down letter e’s representing elektra too? This imagery visually reinforces our client’s connection to electricity which is a crucial element of their business.

Here at Keen Ltd; we have had great feedback from clients who have used animations to engage with new customers. Consumers appreciate the creativity, effort and shared human experiences often conveyed within these animations. Why not get in touch with our team to discuss how adopting a creative multi-media strategy could benefit your company?
